Senior Technology Talent Partner
Ready to build something? If you’re someone who gets bored doing the same thing every day, this could be a great fit.
Purpose of the role
This is an opportunity for a talented technology resourcer to join 60 Degrees, Aston Holmes' specialist technology recruitment business, and play a key role in delivering exceptional technology talent across South Africa and international markets.
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys finding great people. Someone who gets satisfaction from the research, the hunt, the conversation and ultimately putting the right person in the right opportunity.
You might currently be working in an agency, as an embedded partner, in a scaling tech business or even at one of the Magnificent Seven. You've developed strong sourcing skills, understand technology talent and know how to engage hard-to-find candidates — but you're ready for something more challenging: more variety, more pace and a seat at the table to help accelerate the growth of one of SA's most exciting contingent businesses.
You'll manage a large portfolio of roles, working closely with candidates throughout our clients' hiring processes while building a network of top-tier technology talent across the markets you lead delivery for.
It's an environment that suits people who are driven, commercially minded, resilient and energised by variety.
Why 60 Degrees?
60 Degrees is the specialist technology recruiter that helps build better businesses.
We're part of the Aston Holmes Group, but we've got our own edge. We connect great technology people with ambitious organisations across South Africa and global markets — and we take the quality of both sides seriously.
Our biggest strength is our people. Simply put the best want to work with the best. We want smart, driven people who care about what they do, want to win and want to be surrounded by people who push them to be better.
We work across technology recruitment, from high-volume hiring to highly specialised and senior appointments. No two days — or careers — need to look the same.
And because we're part of Aston Holmes, there's a bigger platform behind us. That means exposure to technology recruitment, consulting, RPO, BPO, contingent workforce solutions and talent intelligence, as well as the opportunity to work across international markets.
If you want to join a team that’s ambitious, competitive, genuinely enjoys what it does and wants to build something special, 60 Degrees could be the place for you.
Key responsibilities
Find great technology people across a range of skills, roles and seniority levels.
Use LinkedIn and other sourcing tools to uncover great talent — including the people who aren’t actively looking.
Get creative when a role is tricky to fill. If the obvious search isn’t working, find another way in.
Build genuine candidate networks, generate referrals and keep your talent pools warm — particularly as we enter new markets.
Have great conversations with candidates. Understand what they’ve done, what they’re good at, what motivates them and what they’re looking for next.
Work closely with our Business Development teams to understand what our clients really need and make sure we’re finding the right fit, not just the right skills.
Juggle multiple searches and priorities in a fast-moving contingent environment.
Keep the wider team close to the market — sharing candidate insight, market intelligence and opportunities that could open doors for the sales team.
Keep our systems and candidate information up to date. The admin matters, even if it’s not the most exciting part of the job.
Get involved in talent mapping, market research and projects that give our clients a better view of the technology talent market.
Stay curious about technology — the skills, companies, people and trends shaping the market.
Give candidates a great experience, whether they get the job or not.
Work as part of the wider 60 Degrees and Aston Holmes team, sharing ideas, helping each other out and celebrating the wins.
Fulfil your creative dreams, as lead author of our monthly newsletter the Interface!
Skills and experience required
We’re looking for someone who is great at sourcing, but more importantly, loves filling roles.
Yes, you’ll need relevant experience, but we’re more interested in how you think, how you work and how good you are at finding people than a tick-box list of requirements.
We’re generally looking for someone who:
Loves technology and is genuinely interested in the people, skills and companies shaping the industry.
Knows how to find great people — including the ones who aren’t actively looking.
Is a good researcher and isn’t afraid to get creative when the obvious search doesn’t work.
Can have a proper conversation with a candidate and understand the company and culture they’ll be best suited to — not simply work through a checklist.
Is organised enough to keep multiple searches moving at the same time.
Has a bit of grit. Contingent recruitment can be a rollercoaster, and you need to enjoy the highs without getting too hung up on the lows.
Is naturally curious, proactive and competitive. You’ll be expected to make things happen rather than wait to be told what to do.
Can work closely with recruiters and our Business Development team, while taking real ownership of your delivery.
Spots opportunities. A great candidate conversation might lead to a great hire, but it might also uncover a market insight, referral or opportunity for the wider team.
Cares about doing a great job. For us, that means being someone candidates want to speak to, clients trust and colleagues want on their team.
Ready to build something?
If you’re someone who gets bored doing the same thing every day, this could be a great fit.
You’ll work across different technologies, clients and markets, build a genuinely broad technology network and get exposure to the commercial side of recruitment — with the support and infrastructure of the wider Aston Holmes Group behind you.
We’re looking for people who want to build something, not simply occupy a seat.
If you’re curious, energetic, people-focused and proud of being really good at finding talent, we’d love to hear from you.
